How Your Donations Make a Difference
Supporting Play Therapy Base through the Sunset Running Festival
At Blast Running, we believe in running with purpose — and thanks to you, our amazing community, we’ve been able to support a local charity that’s close to our hearts. Over the past five years, the Sunset Running Festival has raised an incredible £2,625 for our nominated charity, Play Therapy Base.
This small Scottish charity provides therapeutic support for children and young people, many of whom are neurodivergent or dealing with emotional or developmental challenges. We recently caught up with Linda Cuthbert, Service Manager at Play Therapy Base, to find out exactly how your donations are making a difference.
“That’s amazing, and we are very grateful to you and your runners for your ongoing support.
We were fortunate to receive funding to replace the flooring and lighting in the playrooms, and I would like to use your funds to purchase materials for those playrooms to support children who are neurodivergent.
We really appreciate the support you give us. Last year, we bought some equipment from your funding — one was a spin chair, and it has helped so many children to regulate and settle in sessions. It’s also been used as a world, a nest for a baby etc... it’s such a valuable addition.”
Your generosity has helped to create a welcoming and supportive environment where children can explore, express themselves, and feel safe. Whether it’s new materials, sensory tools, or specialist equipment, every pound raised is put to meaningful use.
From all of us at Blast Running — thank you for lacing up your trainers, showing up, and giving back. You're helping to support real change, one stride at a time.
